The recent spread of the virus has caused our country to suffer a financial crisis, causing people to lose jobs or get a pay cut. In times like these, I feel that it is better to save than to spend beyond what we really need, and I will explain why.
Firstly, saving up is a careful protection against the uncertainty approaching in the near future. For example, at present, the whole world’s economy is depressing; a person might lose his job or his salary could possibly be reduced. It is wise and careful to have some bank savings in this situation rather than borrowing from others. Additionally, I believe that a good form of discipline can be developed from regularly putting aside a specific sum of money. This form of self-discipline often enables a person to build up large amounts of money to buy a car or make a deposit for a house. Finally, let us be reminded that the current financial crisis was caused by a virus that has spread throughout the world. This infectious disease took some by surprise, causing people to fall sick and suffer through financial crisis. Having some savings to tie through such a confusing and gloomy situation does help a person gain some control over his life. Therefore, I feel that logical savings are a good cause of action against uncertainty in life.
Admittedly, some people think differently and choose to live for the moment, thinking that perhaps tomorrow will take care of itself. While I believe that we should spend on daily essentials, it is foolish to throw caution to the wind.
To conclude, the wiser choice is to save as saving is a good form of discipline that can insure our future, handle unexpected situations and act as a guard against tragedy. (300)
