WRITING ASSIGNMENTS

Write an essay using one of the four themes available here. 

Please follow the grammatical structure and content, as taught in class, carefully. This essay shows that you can write with a good working knowledge of how to respond to the task, connect thoughts, use a good range of grammar, and rightly use the lexical resources available.

1 As you begin, ask yourself:

Did I outline my essay?

Is my outline logical, and is there a flow of thoughts?

Am I writing with a pencil or typing on the computer?

2 As you start to write, ask yourself:

Am I following my outline closely?

Am I using the correct tenses (grammar)?

Am I going to have a few complex sentences?

Are the choice of words appropriate for this essay?

Is every sentence connected to the one before that?

3 After you have completed the essay, ask yourself:

Did I answer the task?

Did I write enough words?

Did I check my essay for grammar and writing errors?

Am I using left-justified to align my text on the computer? 

Did I leave a blank space between paragraphs?

4 If there are mistakes in your essay, you should:

Correct all your errors.

Rewrite or retype your essay if needed.

5 Hand in your essay to the teacher on time.

If you write with a pencil, you can take a snapshot of it and send it through Wechat to your teacher.

If you type it on the computer, please send it before the deadline.
